CHILLED WATER TREATMENT CHEMICALS

PAY-OFF CHWT

Chilled Water System, operating below     60 0C, are members of closed circuit water systems.

The term closed-circuit gives the impression that no make up water is required, once the circulating water is treated against corrosion and scale formation. In practice this is not the case, because of leakage and evaporation.

Corrosion (Caused by dissolved oxygen and carbon dioxide) and scale formation (Caused by using hard water) are the main problems in closed-circuit water systems. Those problems are introduced into the system, with the intake of make-up water.

A closed-circuit water system consists of various metals, such as Iron, Steel, Copper, Aluminium etc. All of them together require a well-balanced corrosion inhibitor formula.

PAY-OFF CONTAINS :

  1. A buffering, to control pH in the chilled water system.
  2. An organic dispersant, to emulsify any precipitate formed and thus prevents scale formation.
  3. Nitrite base anodic inhibitor to prevent corrosion.
